New Zealand and USA runners help each other after falling over.

In the fourth lap of Olympic 5000m metre womens running race, NZ runner Nikki Hamblin tripped over one of the other runners feet, USA athlete Abbey D’Agostino came tumbling down ending up on each other.

In signs of good sportsmanship, D’Agostino tapped Hamblin on the shoulder and said ‘Get up, get up we’ve got to finish this!’

Hamblin finished the race with D’Agostino following, coming in last. The pair were given the opportunity to give thier best by being included in the final, sadly they did not place.

In the end this was great Olympic spirit and good sportsmanship. It was very kind to help another country and encourage them to finish with a smile.
